                      Pro Tips & Talking Tricks

Get ready for some St. Patrick’s Day fun! Our St. Patrick’s Day Articulation Hunt is the perfect way to practice speech sounds while searching for lucky words. Kids will go on a festive hunt, finding and saying themed words to strengthen their articulation skills—all while enjoying a little leprechaun magic!

St. Patrick’s Day Articulation Hunt

Goal: Improve articulation of target sounds (e.g., /r/, /s/, /l/).

Activity: Hide pictures of shamrocks, leprechauns, or gold coins around the room or yard, each labeled with a word containing the target sound(s). The child finds them and practices saying each word clearly. For example, "rainbow" for /r/ or "shamrock" for /sh/.

Leprechaun Clues: Give verbal hints with the target sound emphasized (e.g., “Look under the ssssink for a sssshamrock”) if your child needs some help locating the hidden objects. This also boosts auditory comprehension too.

Customization
You can customize this activity for any and all levels and needs.

•Keep the pace and vibe relaxed to reduce pressure.

•Any speech goals or sounds can be applied to the words or phrases you put on your individual cards or objects.

•Autism or Attention Needs: Add a visual checklist of items to find, keeping focus clear. Use high-interest rewards (e.g., a gold sticker) after each find.

•Nonverbal Kids: Pair with AAC devices—program target words into the device for the child to “say” when they find an item.

•OT or Sensory Needs: Burry the objects in a sensory box and have them dig them out for a combo of tactile sensory play and articulation.

Staff Spotlight:
Muhammad

Let's welcome Muhammad! As our new biller, he’s ready to tackle all your billing needs with expertise and a friendly smile. Have questions? Muhammad’s got you covered! Here is a bit about Muhammad in his own words:

"I am Muhammad Yaseen, 24, and I began my career early, driven by a strong work ethic and a desire to support my family. Coming from a humble background, I was inspired by my father, a hardworking man who always went above and beyond. After completing my studies, I entered the medical billing field, where I quickly found success.
In my free time, I enjoy playing cricket and occasionally going fishing on weekends. My journey to LE was unexpected but felt right from the start. After meeting Renee, Flo, and Jim, I was impressed by the team’s professionalism and supportive environment. Without hesitation, I decided to join and am excited to grow and contribute alongside such a great team."

Welcome to the team, Muhammad!

Pet of the Month

We’re trying something new this month! Suggested by Ms. Megan, we love a pet friend and/or family member, so here at Language Essentials we’ve decided to show off and share our beloved pet loved ones. If they’re covered in fur, have fins, scales or feathers we love them dearly all the same.
Starting us off is the most photogenic, Munchie:

Meet Munchie – Our Star of the Month! 🐾

Fun Facts: Munchie is a rescue kitty, she is originally from Arizona! Now she happily lives in the Bay Area where she enjoys watching the Warriors and sleeping on soft blankets. When she's not glamorously lounging, she likes to: hunt lizards, play outside, and do some bird watching.

What a cool cat, Munchie is!
